My Pet Runs Through the Boundary of My PetSafe® Stay& Play® Compact Wireless Fence System

Always remove the collar from your pet before beginning any troubleshooting.

Make sure your base unit is turned on and has power. The base unit will have a power switch that should be set to (I) and an LCD screen that will show your current settings if it has power. It should be free of alarms and error icons.

  • If your LCD screen shows any error icons or has an alarm sounding, you will need to start HERE.

Make sure the collar has a slow- blinking light every 4-5 seconds, indicating power.

  • If your blinking light is red or yellow, it should be charged fully before continuing to troubleshoot.

Verify your collar is set to a level other than 1. Level 1 is a tone-only level and will not deliver a static correction. For help with determining your current correction level, click HERE. Click HERE to learn how to test for correction.

Test the collar from waist height at the boundary to see if it activates. If it does not activate at the boundary, click HERE. If your collar activates at the boundary continue to step 5.

Ensure the collar is fit correctly on your pet. To verify correct fit, click HERE.

In colder months, your pet’s fur will become thicker and may require a change to the long-fur contact points.
