My PetSafe® Outdoor Dog Fountain Is Noisy or Loud

Check that there is enough water in the bowl. If the water level is too low, the pump may struggle to draw water, creating noises. Never let the water level fall below 1 inch from the base of the bowl. Refill the water reservoirs and bowl as needed.

Ensure the fountain is placed on a flat, level surface.

Reduce the water flow on the pump. Remove the filter housing and foam filter to access the pump. On the front of the pump the flow control dial rotates, allowing you to adjust the strength of the flow. To decrease the flow, rotate the tab on the dial downwards.

Place the fountain on a rubberized mat or something similar if the fountain is vibrating on the surface where it is placed. You can purchase our Fountain and Feeder Mat on our website here.
