How to Use the 4-Way Lock on the PetSafe® Microchip Cat Door

Your door can be in Automatic Mode or Manual Mode to use the Manual 4-Way Lock. For more information, visit our article How to Change the Mode on My PetSafe® Microchip Cat Door.

Only use the “In and Out” position until your cat is comfortable with using the door.

Setting the pet door to the In and Out position allows your pet full access in and out, to come and go as they please.

To set the pet door to In and Out, turn the knob to the horizontal position with the double arrow pointing in and out.

The in-only access option allows your pet to enter the pet door but does not allow your pet to exit.

To set the pet door to In Only, turn the knob to the horizontal position with the single arrow pointing in.

The out-only access option allows your pet to exit the pet door but does not allow your pet to enter.

To set the pet door to Out Only, turn the knob to the horizontal position with the single arrow pointing out.

Setting the pet door to locked, prevents your pet from using the pet door.

To set the pet door to Locked, turn the knob to the horizontal position with the lock icon.
