How to Perform a Battery Drain in My PetSafe® Basic Bark Control Collar
Before you begin, remove the collar from the pet.

Using a coin or the edge of the Test Light Tool, remove the battery from the unit.
Using the Test Light Tool or a coin prevents the existing battery from being stripped out or damage to the collar.

Discharge the battery memory by slowly sliding the contact points back and forth across the cutting board 5 times or until any lights or beeps have ceased.
Be sure to use a cutting board. This will give the appropriate sound and/or vibration needed to activate the bark collars without damaging the collar sensor or surface it is being rubbed on.
Inspect the inside of the collar for corrosion.

Gently lift the battery tab. If there is a spring and not a tab as pictured, do not try to lift it.

Insert a new battery and test for correction. For assistance with testing, visit How to Test the PetSafe® Basic Bark Control Collar.
