How To Measure and Select the Proper Rise on My PetSafe® Panel Pet Door Insert™
Important Information
The rise of the pet door is the height in which your pet must step over to go through the pet door. It is important to select the correct rise so there is not premature wear and tear on the door and so the pets are comfortable using the door.
When measuring for the PetSafe® Panel Pet Door Insert™ you will need to measure the tallest pet.

While your pet is standing, use a soft tape measure to measure the pet’s shoulder height. The shoulder height is the measurement from the top of the pet’s front leg to the top of his withers.
If your pet’s shoulder height is 23 inches or taller, install your PetSafe® Panel Pet Door™ using the 10 ½-inch rise. Visit How To Install My PetSafe® Panel Pet Door Insert™ with a 10 ½ - Inch Rise for assistance with installation.
For pets with a shoulder height under 23 inches, install your PetSafe® Panel Pet Door™ using the 8-inch rise. Visit How To Install My PetSafe® Panel Pet Door Insert™ with an 8 - Inch Rise for assistance with installation.
