How To Disassemble & Clean My PetSafe® Seascape Pet Fountain
Important Information
Fountains should be thoroughly disassembled and cleaned once a month. Households with multiple pets or exceptionally slobbery pets will need to disassemble and clean their fountain more regularly (approximately every 2 weeks). Filters should be replaced monthly.

Unplug the power adaptor from the outlet. Disconnect the pump from the power adaptor.
Remove the tower from the center of the fountain. Empty the fountain by pouring out any remaining water.

Remove the filter housing from the pump.

Remove the carbon filter from the filter housing and discard it.
If you are cleaning your fountain every two weeks, rinse and reuse the carbon filter. Discard and replace the filter every other cleaning.

Peel the rubber cap from the stem of the bowl and remove the rubber gasket from the center of the tower. Set both aside.

Lift and remove the pump and foam filter. Pull the pump cord from the bowl stem.
Clean the Fountain and Pump
Wash the bowl, tower, and filter housing with warm water and soap or in the top rack of the dishwasher.
Do not put the pump, power adaptor, or filters in the dishwasher.

Disassemble the pump and thoroughly clean. For detailed instructions, visit our article How To Take Apart My PetSafe® Seascape Pet Fountain Pump for Cleaning.
Foam and Carbon Filters
Replace the carbon and foam filters once a month. Rinse the carbon filter under cold water until the water runs clear before installing the new filter.
The carbon is made from coconut shells and is completely harmless to your pet in the event any remaining dust makes it into the drinking water.
Reassemble the Fountain

Reassemble the fountain. Be sure to rinse the new carbon filter with cold water before inserting it in the filter housing.
