The Light on the Front of My Simply Clean® Automatic Litter Box Is Solid Red

If the indicator light is solid red, it means there is an issue with the movement of the conveyor.

Clear any clumped litter from the conveyor and from between the conveyor teeth, then recheck the indicator light. If the indicator light:

  • Is still solid red, proceed to the following step.
  • Is glowing green, the issue is resolved. Check the conveyor teeth frequentlyand avoid using clumping clay cat litter containing baking soda.

Inspect the conveyor. Do you see any damage that is preventing the conveyor teeth from moving freely?

  • If yes, the litter box will need to be replaced. Please contact Customer Care for assistance.
  • If no, proceed to the following step.

Locate the cotter pin on the front side of the conveyor assembly, near the top of the conveyor. When the conveyor is lowered, this cotter pin will be in an indentation at the front of the conveyor assembly, near the metal tab of the conveyor sensor.

Look down at the cotter pin. Is it underneath the metal tab of the conveyor sensor? (If so, you may have noticed a clicking noise when the litter box was in operation.)

  • If yes, please contact Customer Care for assistance in fixing the position of the conveyor sensor.
  • If no, proceed to the following step.

Loosen the two thumbscrews securing the conveyor. Lift the conveyor.

Unplug the conveyor motor, making sure to press the clip on the front of the connector before pulling it out of the socket on the conveyor base.

Inspect the pins on the conveyor motor power cable. Do the pins appear bent or damaged?

  • If yes, the conveyor motor will need to be replaced. Please contact Customer Care to purchase a replacement conveyor motor.
  • If no, plug the conveyor motor back in and then proceed to the following step.
