Single Loop with Exclusion Areas

A single loop layout is one wire that makes a complete circle around the containment area. This results in both ends of the wire being plugged into its own wire terminal on the wall unit. This is used when the entire property is being contained.

This layout is used when the entire property is being contained, but you want to keep your pet out of a specific area. Example: the front and back yard are being contained, but you don’t want your pet to get into the garden or the pool. The highlighted graphic indicates where the pet is allowed to go.

Lay a loop of wire around the perimeter of your property, and additional loops around any area off limits to the pet. Splice twisted wire into the wire at the perimeter as well as the off-limits area to connect the two loops.

Twisted wire allows the pet to cross over the wire without receiving a correction. It is needed to connect your wall unit to your boundary wire. The wire needs to have 10-12 twists per foot to adequately cancel the signal. Pre-twisted wire is recommended and can be purchased HERE. The wire can also be twisted manually or utilizing a drill as seen HERE
