Single Loop with an Existing Fence-Maximizing the Contained Space

A single loop layout is one wire that makes a complete circle around the containment area. This results in both ends of the wire being plugged into its own wire terminal on the wall unit. This is used when the entire property is being contained.

This layout is ideal for containing your entire property in a single loop when you have an existing fence. It also has added protection to keep your pet contained if your pet tends to bolt from the front door. The highlighted graphic indicates where the pet is allowed to go.

To lay the Single Loop Layout with an existing fence, lay the wire around the perimeter of the property you wish to contain. To ensure the most yard space for your pet, lay the wire on the outside of your existing fence. When you end your loop back where you started, splice your twisted wire into the loop and run it back to your wall unit.

Twisted wire allows the pet to cross over the wire without receiving a correction. It is needed to connect your wall unit to your boundary wire. The wire needs to have 10-12 twists per foot to adequately cancel the signal. Pre-twisted wire is recommended and can be purchased HERE. The wire can also be twisted manually or utilizing a drill as seen HERE.
