Clean the Fountain
Clean the fountain once a month. Multi-pet households may need to clean every two weeks.
Clean the pump and change the filter when cleaning the fountain.
Clean all parts of the fountain using unscented soap, warm water and a small brush before first use.
Disassemble the Pump
Note: Place the pump parts in a safe place to avoid dropping them down the drain.
Pry open the blue faceplate on the end opposite of the cord.
Pull up on the small lip to remove the blue stator.
Remove the impeller by pulling up from underneath the white disk.
Note: The impeller is held in place by a magnet. This may give some resistance when trying to remove.
Reassemble the Pump
Once clean, place the impeller, stator and faceplate back onto the base to reassemble the pump.
Rinse the Filter
Note: The carbon is made from coconut shells and is safe for your pet.
Rinse the carbon filter under warm water for 30 seconds before use. Loose black particles may rinse out from the filter and can be seen in the bowl if the filter is not rinsed thoroughly.
Reassemble the Fountain
Place the pump with the flow control nob facing into the bowl. Thread the pump cord through the hole at the bottom of the bowl.
Leave some slack at the end of the cord.
Push the rubber grommet firmly into the hole.
Slide the tower into place. A click will be heard when it is locked into position.
Place the carbon filter into the channels with the black side facing the front of the fountain.
Attach the lid to the top of the tower.
Pour water into the fountain bowl, leaving an inch from the edge.
Connect the pump cord to the power adapter and plug it into a standard electrical outlet.
Acclimate Your Pet
If your pet is hesitant, try the tips below to help your pet get accustomed to their new fountain.
Leave the fountain unplugged for the first few days. Your pet may be intimidated by the running water.
Add a small amount of broth to the water to help attract your pet to the fountain.
