How to Splice Your Wire

Important Information

It is important that you only use this method of splicing. Using any other method can lead to signal inconsistencies or interference.

Other methods to NOT use include but are not limited to:

  • Heat shrink
  • Solder
  • Crimping

You Will Need:

  • Wire strippers
  • In-Ground Fence Splice Kit sold HERE

Strip 3/8 inch of the insulation from the end of each wire being joined together.

Twist the two exposed wires together.

Insert the twisted wires into a wire connector. Twist the wire connector gently until secure.

Knot the wires together several inches down from the connector.

Insert the wire connector into the silicone tube, pushing it all the way to the bottom. Close the cap of the tube, allowing the wires to feed through the opening on the cap.

Gel filled wire connectors sold at hardware stores will only provide a temporary fix. It is necessary to submerge the entire splice into the silicone tube to maintain a long-term fix.
