My ScoopFree® Litter Box Waste Trap is Coming Off

Before you begin, check that the waste compartment is not full or overflowing. Too much waste in the compartment will prevent the waste trap cover from closing correctly and push up on the cover.

Remove waste trap coverRemove waste trap cover

Remove the waste trap cover by rotating it forward, then lift it straight up until it pops out of the notches on the litter box base.

Do not pull up one side at a time. Pulling one side up first can result in the pins at the base of the waste trap cover getting caught in the notches on the litter box frame and breaking off.

Replace the waste trap cover by aligning the pins on the cover to the notches on the frame. Push the waste trap cover down until it snaps fully into place. Make sure the slots on the sides of the waste trap cover are seated on the pegs on the inside of the frame. Confirm the magnets on the waste trap cover are connected to the magnets on the litter tray. You should hear a click when they are connected.

If you are using the reusable litter tray, confirm proper placement and attachment to the waste trap bar.
