My PetSafe® Pet Door Flap is Tearing or Stretching at the Mounting Screws

Important Information

Tearing or stretching of the flap’s mounting holes is usually caused by the mounting bracket and flap not being installed properly.

Ensure the flap is placed between the interior frame and the mounting bracket.

Interior FrameInterior Frame

From the interior side, the frame covers the top part of the flap, and the screw heads are visible.

Exterior FrameExterior Frame

From the exterior side, the mounting bracket is visible across the top of the flap with the extended screw holes facing outward.

Side ViewSide View

The mounting bracket has a notch on the flat side for the flap to sit in making a flush connection.

Inspect the Flap

Replace the flap if it is damaged and no longer stays in place. Replacements can be purchased from our website here.
