My Pet is Getting Through or Breaking Through the PetSafe® Snap-On Closing Panel Pet Door Cover

Important Information

The Snap-On Closing Panel is to be used for energy efficiency purposes only. It is not intended as a security device.

Ensure the Snap-On Closing Panel is properly secured in place. The panel notches should be locked into the frame slots. For detailed instructions, visit our article How to Use the PetSafe® Snap-On Closing Panel.

The closing panel may not attach properly if the pet door is installed backward. Please ensure that the interior frame with the flap is installed inside your house.

If your pet is running/charging the door when the closing panel is in place, you can place household items like a laundry basket or trash can a few feet in front of the door to slow their momentum until the behavior stops. This can help prevent your pet from dislodging the closing panel.

Revisit the training. While the Snap-On Closing Panel can also be a visual to your pet that the door cannot be used at this time, the closing panel is not intended as a security device to hold up to an aggressive or forcible entry/exit attempt. This behavior will need to be discouraged via training.
