My Dog's Easy Walk® Harness Straps Are Rubbing or Loosening

How to Fit and Use the PetSafe® Easy Walk® Harness

Check the Fit of the Harness

Check the fit of the harness. If the girth strap is too loose and/or the chest strap is too tight, it will allow the girth strap to slip into the armpits and cause chaffing. It is very important to have a snug fit in the girth. The chest strap should gently lay over the dog’s front and not be overtightened.

Check the Size of Your Harness

If the chest strap is fully extended and it is still pulling the girth straps into the armpits, the harness might be too small. Consult the sizing chart to make sure you have the right fit for your dog.

Consider the Training

When you first begin training, your dog’s excessive pulling may cause the straps to loosen. This can contribute to chaffing in a dog’s armpits. Make sure you are using proper leash techniques to redirect your dog, so they do not pull forward on a walk.
