How to Use the PetSafe® Closing Panel Pet Door Cover
Important Information
The Closing Panel Pet Door Cover is to be used for energy efficiency purposes only. While this can also be a visual to your pet that the door cannot be used at this time, the closing panel is not intended as a security device to hold up to an aggressive or forcible entry/exit attempt. This behavior will need to be discouraged via training.
Placing the Closing Panel
Align the closing panel with the pet door and begin sliding the edges of the closing panel into the slots on the interior frame of the pet door.
For the tab-style closing panel, continue to slide the closing panel down until the teeth on the back of the tab latch into the frame of the pet door.
For the pin style, pull the pin towards you and close the panel the rest of the way, then release the pin to lock into place.
It is imperative that the teeth click into the frame for the panel to be properly secured.
Removing the Closing Panel
Pull the tab or pin towards you and slide the closing panel up and out of the frame slots.
