How to Twist Wire

Twisted Wire cancels the signal running through the wire. This is used to run the wire from the wall transmitter to the boundary. This allows the dog to cross over the wire without receiving a correction.

There are two methods of twisting your boundary wire. You can manually twist the wire or use a drill to twist wire. Both methods are shown below. Pre-twisted wire can be purchased HERE, or you can use the same boundary wire used to lay the perimeter boundary.

It is important to twist the wire 10-12 twists per foot of wire. Over twisting can result in signal interference or breakage of the wire inside the insulation.

Manually Twist Wire

This method is easiest as a two-person job. Use 2 pieces of boundary wire that are the same length. The length should be longer than the distance needed. One person will hold one end of each wire stationary and the other person will manually twist one piece of the wire over the other.

Use a Drill to Twist the Wire

This method is easiest as a two-person job. Use 2 pieces of boundary wire that are the same length. The length should be longer than the distance needed. One person will hold one end of each wire stationary and the other person will place the other two ends in the end of a drill. Drill slowly to twist the wires together.
