How to Troubleshoot the PetSafe® Viva™ Fountain That is Leaking

Important Information

Pets will sometimes drink energetically, causing water to splash or spill out from the fountain. This can often appear as a leak.

Inspect the fountain for any signs of damage. Ensure there are no cracks in the plastic. If any damage is found, the part or fountain will need to be replaced.

Make sure the silicone cap on the stem of the bowl and around the cord is securely in place to prevent water from traveling through the opening.

Test the fountain away from your pets. Place your fountain in a location where pets will not have access. You can place a paper towel under the fountain to easily see any water and where it originated from. If the area around the fountain remains dry and free of any water, this indicates the water occurring around the fountain area is not the result of a leak.

If the water around the fountain is a result of your pets, we recommend placing a rubberized mat under that fountain. Our Fountain and Feeder Mat can be purchased through our website here.
