How to Take Apart My PetSafe® Drinkwell® Mini Fountain Pump for Cleaning
Important Information
- Your pump should be taken apart and cleaned each time you disassemble and clean the fountain.
- If you have “hard water” you may start to see white mineral deposits on or down inside the pump. This may eventually prevent the impeller from turning properly.
Disassemble

Remove the faceplate of the pump that has the flow control knob attached.
Do not pull on the flow control knob as this can break it.

Pull on the small tab to remove the stator.

Remove the impeller by pulling up from underneath the white plastic.
Note: The impeller is held in place by a magnet. This may give some resistance when trying to remove.
Cleaning

Thoroughly clean inside the pump and all the pump pieces. Use a mild dish soap and warm water to clean. If there is mineral build-up, use an 50/50 water-vinegar solution.
Do not use bleach or any other harsh chemicals.
Reassemble

Replace the impeller, stator, and faceplate on the pump.
