How to Set Up Your CareLift™ Support Harness

to your new CareLift™ Support Harness

Keep in Mind

Check the fit of the harness often to avoid chafing, pinching and rubbing in sensitive areas.

This harness should be taken off when not in use.

Understanding Your Harness

Lifting Leash
Small harness: Includes lifting leash extender.
Medium and large harness: Includes shoulder strap.

Rear Lifting Handle
Used to assist your dog’s rear legs.

Rear Leg Straps
Provides support to your dog’s rear legs.

Belly Band
Protects your dogs sensitive area during an assisted lift.

Chest Lifting Panel
Provides support to your dog’s front quarters during an assisted lift.

Front Lifting Handle
Used to assist your dog’s front quarters using the male protection shield.


Set Up

Front Harness

With one buckle unfastened, lay the front harness section on the ground in front of your dog. Have your dog step into the harness loops.

Lift the harness up to your dog’s chest and over his shoulders. Refasten the loose buckle.

Adjust the straps for a comfortable fit. Two fingers should fit snug between the harness and your dog’s fur.

Important: A loose-fitting harness will cause chafing.

Rear Harness

Important: If your dog is female, prior to fitting the rear harness, remove the protection shield from the belly strap.

With the leg loop strap unbuckled, drape the harness over your dog’s back with the lifting leash facing front.

Swing the belly band underneath and buckle on the other side.

Note: This strap can be undone when your male dog is ready to use the bathroom.

Swing the rear leg straps around your dogs rear and buckle on top of the harness.

Adjust the straps for a comfortable fit. Two fingers should fit snug between the harness and your dog’s fur.

Connect the front and rear support harness by attaching the lifting leash to the D-ring on the front support harness. Adjust for a semi-snug fit.


How to Use

Size Small

Use the lifting leash or the front and rear handles to help your dog move around. The small harness includes a leash extender for additional rear support.

Size Medium/ Large

Use the lifting leash or the front and rear handles to help your dog move around. The medium and large harness includes a shoulder strap for additional full body support in heavier dogs.
