How to Install the Extreme Weather Sliding Glass Pet Door™ Security Bar
The security bar fits between the sliding glass door and the door frame to prevent the sliding door from being opened.
Note: For sliding glass doors with the movable door on the outside track, Contact our Customer Care Team for alternative locking options.
Important: If you have a home security system, locate any sensors or other components that may need to be moved or reconfigured before installing the pet door.

Snap the clip onto the security bar.

Hook the bar onto the bracket and hold in place.

Place the security bar at the desired height and remove the pin to extend the inner rod to the necessary length. There are eight different length settings.

Further adjust the length by rotating the threaded end of the security bar. Extend or retract the bar as needed for the exact fit on your sliding glass door.

Mark the sliding door frame to indicate where to mount the bracket and clip.
Mount the Clip and Bracket
- With adhesive: For a tool-free and temporary option.
- With screws: For a secure and more permanent option.
Adhesive

Clean the back of the clip and bracket with rubbing alcohol. Allow to dry and apply the adhesive strips.

Place the clip and bracket onto the marked spots of the door frame and press to secure the adhesive.

Align the clip on the marked line.

Mark inside the holes with a pencil.

Drill through the marked holes.

Secure the clip with screws until resistance is felt.
Repeat steps 1-4 with the bracket.
How to Use Security Bar

Hook the bar into the bracket and swing the bar out.

Swing the bar up and over, then snap into the clip.
