Use a measuring tape to measure your pet from the floor to their shoulder. The professional glazier will apply that measurement to the door with a marker.

Draw Horizontal LineDraw Horizontal Line

Your glazier can use a level to draw a horizontal line through the height marking to extend the line at least 5 inches.

Your glazier will need to cut a circular hole with a diameter of 10.83 inches(275mm) with the center of the circle 1.45 inches (36.83mm)below the shoulder height mark. A glass-cutting template is provided with the installation adaptors.

Fit an installation adaptor onto the back of the interior frame and then insert it into the cut opening on the interior side of the glass. The rubber gasket on the installation adaptor should face the glass. Have a helper hold the interior frame in place while you go to the exterior side of the glass.

Fit an installation adaptor onto the back of the exterior frame and then fit it onto the tunnel of the interior frame. The rubber gasket on the installation adaptor should face the glass.

Holding both frames in place, insert 2-inch screws (provided with the installation adaptors) through the holes in the exterior frame, through the cut opening, and into the holes on the back of the interior frame. Make sure the cat door is level in the opening and then tighten the screws with a Phillips screwdriver. Do not over‑tighten.

Install PlugsInstall Plugs

Once you have tightened the screws, check the cat door one more time to ensure it is level and that the flap opens and closes freely.

Insert the two flat blanking plugs into the lower holes.

Insert the two contoured blanking plugs into the upper holes.

Apply Caulk Around Exterior FrameApply Caulk Around Exterior Frame

If you installed the cat door in an exterior door, weatherproof your installation by applying exterior-grade caulk around where the exterior frame meets the door, and where the exterior frame meets the installation adaptor.

Do not caulk over the weephole at the bottom of the exterior frame.
