How to Change the Battery in My PetSafe® Basic Bark Control Collar
Your collar uses an RFA-67 battery. In addition to a new battery, you will also need a coin or the Test Light Tool that was included with your collar and a cutting board of any kind.
Remove the existing battery using the Test Light Tool or a coin to turn the battery counterclockwise to the Unlock symbol on the collar.
- The battery is sealed within the black cap and does not come out. The battery and cap are replaced as one unit.
Using the Test Light Tool or a coin prevents the existing battery from being stripped out or damage to the collar.
While the battery is out, discharge the battery memory by slowly rubbing the contact points across the cutting board back and forth 5 times or until any lights or beeping ceases.
Inspect the inside of the collar for any corrosion.
Gently lift the battery tab.
Reinsert a new battery. Ensure the arrow on the battery is lined up with the Locked symbol on the collar.
