How to Change the Battery in My PetSafe® Bark Collar
When to Change the Battery
The battery should be changed when the collar flashes red every 5 seconds when it is powered on, instead of green.
Use the Test Light Tool or coin to twist the battery cap towards the unlock position on the collar and remove the battery cap.
Remove the old battery.
Re-insert a new 6V battery. The negative side of the battery should face the inside of the collar and the positive side should be outward towards the battery cap.
Replace the battery cap by lining the arrow on the cap up with the unlock symbol on the collar. Use the Test Light Tool or a coin to twist the cap from the unlock symbol to the lock symbol.
Do not over-tighten the battery cap past the locked symbol.
Get the Most Out of Your Battery
- Each battery will last 3-6 months. Battery life will vary depending on how much your pet barks.
- It is expected that your first battery will need to be changed sooner than the rest due to the pet’s acclimation and training to the bark collar.
- To extend the life of the battery, power the collar off in between uses.
