Hourglass Layout

A single loop layout is one wire that makes a complete circle around the containment area. This results in both ends of the wire being plugged into its own wire terminal on the wall unit. This is used when the entire property is being contained.

This layout is used when the entire property is being contained, but the pet is only allowed access to either the front or the back containment area at any given time. The highlighted graphic indicates where the pet is allowed to go.

To lay the Hourglass layout, lay the wire around the perimeter of the property you wish to contain but bringing the wire within 5 feet of the house at the separation point. When going back out to the perimeter of the property, ensure the wire stays 5 feet from itself as well. When you end back where you started, splice your twisted wire into the loop and run it back to your wall unit.

Twisted wire allows the pet to cross over the wire without receiving a correction. It is needed to connect your wall unit to your boundary wire. The wire needs to have 10-12

twists per foot to adequately cancel the signal. Pre-twisted wire is recommended and can be purchased HERE. The wire can also be twisted manually or utilizing a drill as seen HERE.
