Welcome
Welcome to your new PetSafe® Drinkwell® Sedona Pet Fountain!
Keep in Mind
The acclimation time may vary with each pet.
The sound of falling water triggers instinctual behavior to drink more.
The circulating water prevents mineral build up.
The filtration system forces water through a carbon filter that removes toxins, particles, bad tastes and odors.
The fountain will need to be cleaned before first use.
Preparation: Materials
Have the following ready to assemble your pet’s new fountain:
Tower
Bowl
Foam Filter
Filter Housing
Carbon Filter
Rubber Cap
Power Adaptor
Pump
Clean the Fountain
The fountain should be cleaned at least once a month to avoid mineral buildup and to ensure clean drinking water for your pet.
Multi-pet households may need to clean every two weeks.
Clean all parts of the fountain using soap, warm water and a small brush before first use. It is recommended to clean the pump and change the filter when cleaning the fountain.
If hard water build up occurs, soak pump in equal parts vinegar and warm water for 15 minutes, then scrub.
Disassemble the Pump
Note: Place the pump parts in a safe place to avoid dropping them down the drain.
Use a tool with a small, flat edge to remove the faceplate on the end opposite to the cord.
Pull up on the small lip to remove the teardrop shaped stator.
Remove the impeller by pulling up from underneath the white disk.
Note: The impeller is held in place by a magnet. This may give some resistance when trying to remove.
Reassemble the Pump
Place the impeller, stator and faceplate back onto the base to reassemble the pump.
Rinse the Filters
Rinse the carbon filter under warm water for 30 seconds before use. Loose black particles will rinse out from the filter and can be seen in the bowl if the filter is not rinsed thoroughly. The carbon is made from coconut shells and is safe for your pet.
Rinse the foam filter under warm water for 30 seconds before use. This filter will remove hair and other small particles. Replace if damage is noticed.
Reassemble the Fountain
Place the foam filter on top of the square in the bowl of the fountain.
Set the pump in the foam filter and run the cord down the stem and out the bottom.
Fold the rubber cap over the stem, allowing the cord to sit in the notch at the bottom of the cap.
Align the carbon filter with the filter housing and insert.
Insert the bottom of the filter housing into the circular hole on the pump.
Place the tower over the filter housing. Align the top of the housing with the opening in the tower.
Pour water into the fountain bowl, leaving an inch of room from the edge.
Connect the pump cord to the power adaptor and plug it into a standard electrical outlet.
Acclimate Your Pet
Some pets may hesitate to drink out of the fountain, but don’t get discouraged! If your pet is hesitant, try the tips below to help your pet get accustomed to their new fountain.
Don’t plug in the fountain for the first few days. Your pet may be intimidated by the running water.
Add a small amount of broth to the water to help attract your pet to the fountain.
