Collar Compatibility Check

What Collar Will Work with My Fence System?

In-ground and wireless fences function differently, and use different collars to operate. The collars for these two types of systems are not interchangeable.

To determine which type of collar will work with your fence system, we will:

  • Identify which fence system you have.
  • Locate the model number of your collar.
  • Determine compatibility between the collar and fence system.

Select which type of fence system you have:

  • In-Ground
Sends a radio signal through a wire that is looped around your yard and connected to the base unit.
  • Wireless
Sends a radio signal from the base unit without the use of a wire.

In-Ground Fence™

Most in-ground fence systems work with most in-ground collars, with the exception of YardMax(R) and Classic In-Ground Fences. However, it is good to know how to identify which system you have to ensure that you have an in-ground base unit or collar.

You will be able to identify your system using the model numbers on your base unit, collar or product packaging.

How to Identify Your System

Locate the collar model number:

Model number on the bottom of the collarModel number on the bottom of the collar

On the bottom of the collar

Model number near the probesModel number near the probes

Near the probes

Model number underneath the strapModel number underneath the strap

Underneath the strap

You may need to remove the probes to see the model number.

Often there are additional numbers located on the collar. These are not unique to your system and will not help to identify which system you have.

You might see:

  • Fabrication number (FAB ####)
  • Manufacturing date
  • N13506
  • Canada 310
  • 39142
  • 10 digit serial number
  • FCC ID

Identify your base unit:
