Choose the Correct Size Soft Point Training Collar for Your Dog

Offer treats and praise to your dog during and after measurements.

When measuring your dog for the collar, be sure to measure close to the skin for a snug fit. This is especially important for pets with thick fur.

With your dog standing comfortably, use a soft measuring tape to measure high around your dog's neck, just behind the ears.

If you do not have a soft measuring tape, you can use a piece of string or your dog's leash; just wrap the string or leash around your dog's neck just behind the ears, mark the length needed, and then measure the marked length using a standard ruler or metal tape measure.

Choose the appropriate size collar based on your dog's neck measurement.

The medium collar has a ¾-inch strap and the large collar has a 1-inch strap.
