100 Yard Remote Trainer-Collar Not Correcting or Dog Not Responding

Confirm Power and Battery Charge

Start by making sure both the collar and remote are fully charged and have power.

  • When any button on the remote is pressed, the screen should turn on and display the level of correction and a full battery icon.
  • While powered on, the collar should flash a green light once every 5 seconds.

If either device doesn’t have a full charge or power, fully charge before proceeding.

Check Contact Points

Make sure the contact points are secure. Use the test light tool to hand-tighten the contact points.

The contact points may loosen with wear. Be sure to check the tightness of your contact points every few weeks.

Test for Static

How to test your system

Set the correction level to 7 on the remote.

Using your test light tool, touch the contact point on the collar to the wires on the tool.

Press and hold the upper right button on the remote. The light on the collar should turn red and an amber light will flicker in the center of the test light tool.

For more detailed information, go to our article on How to Test Your Remote Trainer.

The light on the test light tool can only illuminate if the static function is working. If the static is not working, there will be no light on the tool.

No Light on the Test Light Tool

If the test light tool does not show a light when testing for static, you may need to pair the remote and collar together.

For detailed instruction and video, go to our article on How to Pair Your Remote Trainer.

Light on Test Light Tool but Dog Not Responding

The light in the center of the test light tool flickering confirms the static function is working. If your dog is not responding to the collar, you should check the fit of the collar and make sure you have the best correction level for your dog.
